It’s been a very long time since I’ve written a blog post.
I hadn’t been feeling very good and had to figure out some medical issues. Lacking energy, I fell into a depression. Maybe they’re one in the same. It sure feels like it sometimes. Drained, I insisted on getting tested for low B-12. It turns out I was on the low end. I started taking a B-12 supplement, my energy came back, and the depression lifted. Yay!
As much as I like writing and sharing my experiences with ADHD, depression, and anxiety, I needed more social interaction. I got a part-time job and have been working for about 7 months. I work every other day for about 5 hours, so I’m not too overwhelmed – with people or exhaustion. I’ve been able to manage my chronic back and hip pain with a wonderful chiropractor and monthly massages, which is a bonus.
I chose a hands-on job where I’m not sitting at a desk stressing out about deadlines. It’s helped me recover and start to feel more like myself. I’m enjoying working in a positive atmosphere with a team, but I especially like meeting new people and helping customers. It’s not perfect, but neither am I.
I still take a B-12 supplement daily to boost my energy. It’s helped me snap out of depression/low energy, but without the social interaction, I’d still be feeling low. Being around people is important. We as humans feed off the energy of others. It’s hard to be happy and healthy if we’re isolated.
If you’re experiencing anything similar to what I’ve gone through, I truly encourage you to get to the source of your physical symptoms with a doctor who listens to your story. There is hope.
